General Information
The Bachelor of Education (Secondary) is a four-year full time course, or part time equivalent, which provides initial teacher education for people who wish to work in secondary years (Year 8-12) school classroom settings. The course is available via on-campus study only.
The successful completion of this course leads to provisional registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
This course consist of four strands: Christian Studies, Education Studies, Discipline Studies (including Discipline Content and Curriculum and Pedagogy) and Professional Experiences. Students must also fulfill other requirements including Student Teacher Embedded Practice (STEP), Professional and Community Experiences (PACE) and Senior First Aid, CPR and Lifesaving certification.
Course Accreditations
- CHC Education & Humanities courses are accredited by the Qld Minister for Education and by the Qld College of Teachers
- CHC is approved under the Higher Education Support Act 2003
- All undergraduate courses are approved for HECS-HELP/ Youth Allowance/Abstudy and Austudy
