Need study support

CHC is delighted to introduce Anne Millard.

Anne is a primary trained teacher, having worked at schools, both State and Christian, in various states around Australia. Her last position was at Calvary Christian College, in Brisbane, where she worked for almost 10 years both as a teacher and Deputy on the Springwood Campus.

Post teaching, her special area of interest lies in working with students in the area of academic communication. She has also recently completed a Diploma in Professional Proofreading and Editing.

Anne says it is her privilege to be able to offer support to students at CHC. At this stage the role is a flexible one, and is designed to meet the needs of individual students or groups as required. Anne’s timetable is quite flexible also, so she can be available at different times, but hopefully will settle to a specific day or two per week as the semester progresses.

Some areas that have been already identified for Anne to assist students in are:

• Effective writing – grammar, essay structure, sentence and paragraph structure
• In-text referencing
• How to unpack a topic – what does the assessment task actually require
• Time management/organisational issues – the assessment plan of attack
• Effective study habits

However, individual needs are a priority and will vary enormously from student to student, so Anne is keen to hear from you regarding the support you require at this time in your academic journey at CHC.
