Will Hart’s Story

How many years have you been a CHC Council member? I have been a Director/Council member at CHC since its inception - almost 25 years ago.

What were you doing before you retired? I was a solicitor in private practice in Brisbane for 41 years prior to retirement in June 2006.

What's the primary reason why you feel Christians should support CHC… I think Christians should have a choice to study in a Christian environment at all levels, including the tertiary level. This obviously requires Christian educational facilities to be available at all levels. These are not provided by Government and it is therefore up to all Christians to do their bit to help - a few Christians cannot bear that responsibility alone. Prayers from the committed are not the full answer.

Why do you support CHC in this way? I hope that my efforts will assist in making it more likely that students will have the choice I mentioned earlier so that they can improve their lives and the lives of those in their community.

Tell us about your family… I married Christine Schollay - originally from East Gippsland - in November 2008. We had both been married before. We are both in our 60's - children for us would be more than a surprise.

I have 2 girls from a previous marriage – Amanda (27) who works for Channel 10 in Canberra and Abby (25) who works for a small media company in Toowong. Christine has 2 children in their 30's and 4 grandchildren.

Do you have a hobby? I play tennis each week and follow the mighty Lions in the AFL. I am an enthusiastic but relatively ineffectual gardener.
