The Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Counselling is a one year course and is available on a part time basis
This short course provides a focus on the necessary skills involved in child and adolescent counselling . With only four units, the Graduate Certificate in child and adolescent counselling has been developed with an emphasis on understanding the human person of both the client and the counsellor.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Applicants for whom English is not their first language must provide certified documentary evidence that their secondary schooling, or tertiary studies of at least one year, was conducted in the English language or they have satisfactory results in an acceptable English Language Proficiency examination (see table below). Results are to be no more than two years old as at the commencement of the course of study.

Choose a part-time or full-time program to suit your circumstance and lifestyle. Part-time student should note some classes my be scheduled during the day. Some lectures and tutorials may also have evening classes.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Counselling would consist of four units of study totalling 40cps. It is designed to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in trauma counselling.
The units in the Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Counselling are:
- CA550 Child and Adolescent Counselling I
- CA551 Child and Adolescent Counselling II
- CA552 Child and Adolescent Counselling III
- CO553 Domestic and Family Violence
Students in the Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Counselling must complete all of the units listed.
A standard unit carrying a weighting of 10 credit points has an EFTSL value of 0.125 and a semester workload of 150 hours. This includes element such as scheduled contact time, personal study, and preparation of assessment tasks. Unit outlines include a breakdown of these elements as they apply to each unit.
The standard part-time workload for the course is two units, or 20 credit points, over two semesters, totalling 40 credit points.
FEES
All courses at CHC have study costs associated with them, and these are determined by whether you are a domestic student or an international student, and whether you are in a fee-paying place or a Commonwealth supported place.
Different payment options are available, and eligible students can access the Commonwealth government’s HELP scheme to defer the payment of their study costs.

CHC has a number of scholarships available in particular course areas to help students who are coming to CHC as school-leavers.
