Our world needs people who can help others and change things.

This requires people who can communicate and lead well.

Being able to communicate effectively is perhaps the most important of all life skills. Communication skills are needed to speak appropriately with a wide variety of people whilst maintaining good eye contact, tailor the language to the audience, listen effectively, present ideas appropriately, write clearly and concisely, and work well in a group. Many of these are essential skills that most employers and ministries seek.

Leadership is also needed. Effective leadership is built on a solid foundation consisting of the call of God, a heart to serve, a clear mission, a vision for the future, a specific strategy, and a culture conducive to success. Christian leadership begins with self-leadership. Before a leader can lead others, they must exercise leadership in and over their own lives. Christian ministry leaders lead from the inside out.

The Undergraduate Certificate of Ministry Leadership comprises four (4) core units. It is designed to develop students’ foundational knowledge and skills in the fields of ministry and leadership by including a broad study into the importance of communication, self-leadership, project management and leadership generally, and to provide practical experience in ministry, teamwork and leadership with an experienced supervisor.

Course admission information, including the ATAR/selection rank, and student profile for the Undergraduate Certificate of Ministry Leadership can be found here.

Communication and Leadership skills have the potential to transform practice in a wide range of areas such as:

  • Youth ministry
  • Children’s ministry
  • Creative ministry
  • Media team ministry
  • Small groups ministry
  • Pastoring
  • Education
  • Counselling
