The Graduate Certificate in Practice Innovation is designed with a pragmatic purpose and will assist you or your team working in the field of education to prepare, experiment, evaluate, and report on a project.
The course will build upon your existing knowledge base and experience as well as offer a scholarly research component.
A great feature of this course is that a workplace can study as a group: the facilitated innovation project can be taken as a cohort of other educators who share a common educational context.
The facilitated innovation project is based on principles of design research and will guide you to prepare a project relevant to your role. You will evaluate your innovation using evidence of practice gathered during your experimentation, and then report your analysis to others.

Admission Criteria
RECENT SECONDARY EDUCATION
Applicants with recent secondary education are not eligible for admission to this course.
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (VET) STUDY
Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study are not eligible for admission to this course.
HIGHER EDUCATION STUDY
Applicants with a recognised initial teacher education qualification and at least one year (full-time equivalent) of relevant teaching experience are eligible for admission to this course.
WORK AND LIFE EXPERIENCE
Applicants with only industry experience, are not eligible for admission to this course.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Applicants for whom English is not their first language must provide certified documentary evidence that their secondary schooling, or tertiary studies of at least one year, was conducted in the English language or they have satisfactory results in an acceptable English Language Proficiency examination (see table below). Results are to be no more than two years old as at the commencement of the course of study.

Studying the Course
This course is made up of 4 , 10 week study periods aligned to school terms.
You will:
• Complete online modules directly relating to each phase of your project.
• Regularly collaborate with your project mentor to receive guidance and feedback
• Share your progress with others, including presenting at a symposium in the final phase of the project.
