Bio

Belinda started her working career as a flight attendant almost 30 years ago, which sparked her love of people, cultures and travel, three things that still remain close to her heart. After travelling the world for many years, she “settled down” and discovered a passion for learning and studying. She completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in psychology and linguistics, and then went into the field of counselling.

During this time Belinda married and had three beautiful children, which so far has been the highlight of her life. Sadly in 2008, Belinda experienced the loss of her 4th child, a daughter, who was stillborn. It was this experience that sent her on a different trajectory and discovering a new found passion for nursing and midwifery. Belinda worked for 7 years as the Perinatal Loss coordinator at the Mater Mothers hospital, caring for and supporting families who had also experienced the devastating loss of a child or children. She has spent many years counselling and supporting families through their grief and loss.

Belinda has recently stepped away from this role and has devoted herself to her private counselling practice. She also works part time at the Gateway Counselling and Wholeness centre at Mackenzie and Victoria Point.

As well as this, Belinda has completed a Graduate Certificate in supervision (pastoral and clinical), and loves to support other counsellors and clergy in their roles.

When not working or studying Belinda can be found walking her dog anywhere where there is water, hiking, eating out with friends or covered in dust attempting to renovate furniture. Belinda has been a committed Christian for over 30 years and is humbled by the opportunities to counsel and teach others.
