Darren Iselin
Bio
Dr Darren Iselin has extensive leadership experience within Christian education and have served in a wide range of CEO/executive, principal and senior leadership roles within both K-12 schooling and higher education sectors. Darren is currently director of Research and Innovation for Christian Schools Australia (CSA)and was previously the President of Christian Heritage College (CHC). During Darren’s tenure, the College saw the implementation of over 16 new courses including the seeding and development of Liberal Arts programs in the classical tradition. Darren has also held positions as a Principal within Christian schools (both in Australia and overseas) and was honoured to work for 6 years as a Course Coordinator within the Master of Education (Leadership) at the University of Queensland.
Darren has also worked internationally as a leader within a multi campus International School in Hong Kong as well as holding senior leadership roles in a range of other Christian schools.
Darren has completed extensive formal study, including doctoral studies through the University of Queensland. Darren’s PhD was titled: How Principals are cultivating Sustainable School Cultures Within Christian Schools During Changing Times. The thesis was awarded the Grassie-Basset prize for best thesis in Educational Administration from The University of Queensland and also won the Research in Educational Leadership Management Award from the Australian Council of Educational Leaders (ACEL).
Darren has been blessed to have served at all levels within Christian Education in Australia for the past two decades and am passionate about Christian Education and its potential and promise to bring redemptive change and transformation across culture and society. He is also passionate about building Christ honouring educational communities that see the flourishing of leaders, staff, boards and students within a variety of contexts. Darren is actively involved in a diverse range of educational consultancy and professional development initiatives throughout the Australia, New Zealand and Asia, and regularly present on a range of topics including: School leadership, Christian school cultures, Christian worldview, Christian philosophy, faith formation, faith-learning integration, calling and vocation.
