Bio

Besides being a sessional lecturer at CHC, I am also an individual and couples counsellor and clinical supervisor in private practice on the northside of Brisbane and have currently accrued over 3500 counselling hours experience. I previously worked at a Private Residential Rehab called The Banyans as a counsellor and professional supervisor for their wellness coaches. Before my counselling studies I worked as a Family Support Worker with the Salvation Army in residential care for homeless women and children.

I am passionate about God, about people and about relationships and love to be part of seeing others become empowered and to grow and change to be all who God created them to be. I have been married to my husband Gordon for over 40 years and we have 8 grown children and 21 gorgeous grandchildren ranging in age from 18 years down to 3 months old, and I adore each one of them! We have been empty nesters for a few years now and are enjoying this new season of our life and love our big crazy family get togethers. We also have a gorgeous golden spaniel called Macey who is thoroughly spoilt!

I love spending quality time with family and friends, being in nature, whether it’s walking through the surf at the beach or going for a rainforest walk or a bike ride along the waterfront at Redcliffe. I also love reading and continuing to learn and grow personally.

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t believe in God but as a child I was brought up with a lot of legalism so didn’t get to know God’s love and grace until I was in my early twenties and it was then my husband and I were baptised. As the years have gone on, my love for God continues to grow and I love to spend time with Him whether in worship, reading His Word, being in Creation or fellowshipping at church.
