Bio and Personal Info/Interest:
I began my career in the 1970’s as a nurse and midwife. Then in the early 1980’s I lived in India for a while and taught in a Bible College. I then resumed nursing when I returned home.
After the birth of my first child, I found myself working in the educational sector in a variety of roles including Science Laboratory Technician, WHS Officer, First Aid Officer, Workplace Rehabilitation Officer and since 2009 as a School Counsellor. For more than 10 years I coordinated volunteers (approx. 1100 – 1500 people) at Easterfest (Christian Gospel Music Festival). Then in 2010 and 2011 I was responsible for the resourcing, organisation and management of the entire First Aid Area and Team during Easterfest.
I was born in Toowoomba but have lived in several different cities and rural communities. I live in Toowoomba now, as I love the lifestyle offered by this beautiful city. I have four grown children, four grandchildren and a husband of 39years. I enjoy gardening, walking and reading. The values of walking with the Lord, of hope, safety, respect, social justice, and excellence are important to me.
Personal Testimony:
I grew up in the Lutheran church and had an amazing spiritual encounter with God at the age of fourteen. I was a founding member of Christian Outreach Centre in Toowoomba and I have continued to grow and understand his great love for myself and his entire creation. I enjoy time with some deeply spiritual people that God has placed in my life and, as I work in a Christian College which is rooted in the grace and wisdom of God, I enjoy daily brushes with Christianity across a broad range of theologies. Personally, I find that times of silence and retreat with God refresh me, encourage me, enlighten me and enable me to have a loving, non-judgmental stance towards people.
