Peter Janetzki Workshop: Strong-Willed Children and Anxiety
Strong-Willed Children and Anxiety: Peter Janetzki
Strong willed children are often very challenging for parents and teachers, driving them to frustration and despair. With strong willed children they turn almost everything into a battle, a debate or a war, with their parents, teachers, siblings and peers. Parents and teachers soon discover that ultimatums and threats have little impact on these children, leaving them exhausted, depleted and at a loss at how to manage this type of child.
In this seminar Teachers and Support Staff, Counsellors, Chaplains, Parents and all who work with children will discover what is going on inside most strong willed children and its connection to anxiety, as well as strategies for better management of and engagement with strong willed children.
Presenter – Peter Janetzki holds a Master of Social Science (Counselling) from QUT and is a well known expert in his field. He began his career as a teacher and then joined Scripture Union Queenland (SU) working with students and teachers in primary and secondary schools. Peter also undertook a role as School Counsellor in two very challenging schools which eventuated in him joining the Behaviour Advisory Team who worked with students who were at risk of being suspended or excluded from school. Peter is now in private practice as a Counsellor and Educator and lectures in the School of Social Sciences at Christian Heritage College.
